Early Childhood Resource Center

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton was founded in 1996 as a continuation and extension of the mission and ministry of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine. This Foundation’s vision is to improve the quality of life of the poor and underserved so they can live to their full potential. In keeping with our vision, mission, and the history of our founders, we promote innovative strategies to impact the root causes of poverty. The Quality Child Care Initiative (QCCI), our first strategic initiative, was launched in 1998. By the end of 2005, the Foundation will have invested over $6 million in the QCCI. The purpose of the Initiative is to offer Stark County’s Children, ages birth through eight, the finest child care in the country. Our hope is that each child will have the opportunity to enter school better prepared and enhance his/her ability to learn, grow, and ultimately succeed in life.
